Collette Hansford

Collette Hansford of East Gulf, WV went home to be with the Lord on July 16, 2025, at the age of 71 after succumbing to an infection from surgery.

She was born on September 8, 1953, to the late Willard and Lucille Pritchett. Collette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Reverend Danny Ray Hansford with whom she shared 54 years with, and two great grandchildren, Caydence and Chloe.

Despite those profound losses, Collette’s legacy lives on through her surviving family. She was a cherished mother to her sons, Jerry, Danny “Pugg” and Timmy Hansford.; brothers, Willard Pritchett, Jr. (Meredith), Roger Pritchett (Robin), her twin brother Cole Pritchett (Carol), William “Pee-Wee” Pritchett and aunt Mary Green; grandchildren, Danny Isiah (Hermie) Hansford, Jessica, Danni, Destiny, Skyla (Kaleb Bird, Jeremiah and Nona, Sumer (Keegan) O’Donnell, Luke, Hailey and Hunter; great grandchildren, Sydney, Dixie, Paisley, Mariauna, Kadin, Josiah, James, Zoey, Emily, Tyler, Alaya and Rayden.

Colettes role as a homemaker was one she took great pride in and found satisfaction in preparing meals. She loved watching birds, grandchildren play, and badminton. Her all-time favorite song was Caol Miner’s Daughter by Loretta Lynn. Additionally, she was known for her love of Coca-Cola. You wouldn’t catch her without a cold one in hand!

Collette will be remembered for her unwavering love, gentle spirit, and selfless way she cared for those around her. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we say farewell to a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend we take comfort in knowing that the legacy, love and faith will continue to guide us.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Madelene Freewill Baptist Church on Devils Fork Road, Amigo, Wv with Rev. Joe Cadle officiating. Friends may gather with family from 10:45 until noon.
