Clara Lee Bowden

Clara Lee Bowden, 94, of Prosperity passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019.
Born June 6, 1924 in Sun, WV, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Marry Ballard Sweeney.
Clara had formerly worked for Beckley Manufacturing and Hills Department Store. Her many hobbies included gardening, bee keeping, quilting, painting and crafts. She loved dogs and working in her flower garden.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Bowden, grandson, Adrian Motley; sisters, Margaret Hutchinson, Marie Brown, Juanita Eaton.
Clara is survived by her daughters, Patricia Hoskins and husband Kenneth of New Carlisle, OH, Kathy Motley and husband Frank of Beckley; 2 granddaughters and 5 great grandsons.
Friends may visit with the family from 12 pm to 1 pm on Wednesday at Calfee Funeral Home. A committal service will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at 1:30 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Raleigh County Humane Society, 325 Grey Flats Rd, Beckley, WV 25801.
