Charles Elam Tompkins

Charles Elam Tompkins, aged 68, of Beckley, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025. He was born on June 20, 1956, in Miami, Florida, to the late Herbert Woodson and Elizabeth Featherston Tompkins.

A retired carpenter, Charles dedicated his life to both his craft and the people around him. He found joy in attending church and was an enthusiastic football fan. His warmth and kindness were evident in the time he spent with family and friends, as well as his willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Charles leaves behind two sons, Justin of Goldsboro, North Carolina, and Charles Jr. of California. He is also survived by his brother, Tommy Tompkins, his sister, Molly Cantrell, and five cherished grandchildren.

In accordance with his wishes, Charles will be cremated, and no formal services are planned. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
