Charles Wesley Phipps
Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith
Born November 30th, 1929, to Cleve Phipps and Laura (Snuffer) Phipps at Crab Orchard West Virginia. He ran into the arms of Jesus October 6th, 2025. He was the last surviving member of the family. His brother and sisters who preceded him in death were Maudy, Mildred (Vest), Argyle (Price), Jane (Riffe), Elwood Phipps, and Freda (Cook).
He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1947 and married Janis Marie Dillion in 1949. She preceded him in death in 2017. They were blessed with four sons Jerry, Joey, John and James. Joey and James are deceased. They were also blessed with five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren with one more getting ready to join us any day.
He worked as a Field Operation Supervisor For DuPont in the explosive petrochemical division.
He started his career in Crab Orchard West Virginia and later transferred to Bloomington, Indiana. He worked for DuPont for 30 years. DuPont sent him and his brother Elwood to Alaska to work on the Alaskan pipeline.
Charles absolutely loved ice cream, hunting, fishing, softball and telling wonderful stories. He also loved teaching and telling people about Jesus. He was the kindest and most giving person most have ever known. He most certainly heard our Heavenly Father say, 'Well done!
