Charles Larry Dickens,78, of Beckley, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019.
Born June 26, 1941 in Dry creek, he was the son of the late Clinton and Ruby Webb Dickens.
Charles was a retired miner for Peabody Coal. He enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to gospel music. He also enjoyed working the computer and shooting guns.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Hamm, Melba Swezea, Myrtle Linville and Joyce Alderman and brother, Howard Dickens.
He is survived by his wife Judy Ann; son, Charles Craig Dickens and wife Joann Mack Dickens of Rock Creek; daughters, Kimberly Ann Dillon and her husband Matthew of Whitesville, Teresa Scarbro and her husband Roger of Rock Creek; grandchildren Tyler and Sheila; sisters, Marie Miller of Taylorsville, NC, Judy Groft of Grandview, WV and brother, Harry Dickens of Beckley.
Graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2020 at the Miller Cemetery at Rock Creek with Pastor Timmy John Pettry officiating.
Arrangements by Calfee Funeral Home.
