Charles Edward Gray, Sr.

Charles Edward Gray, Sr., 67, of Spanker Branch went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2022, following a sudden illness.  Born December 2, 1955, in Charleston, WV. Charles was a retired coal miner of 43 years.  He never met a stranger. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 45 years Peggy Gray; daughters Sheila Howlett, husband Joey, Debbie Gray, husband Scott, and son Charles Gray, Jr.,wife Jennifer.  He was proud of his grandchildren:  Kailea and Tyler Gray, Abigail Howlett, Bryson and GraceLynn Gray; one sister Loretta Jarrell. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30,2022 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.  Friends may visit with family one hour prior to the service.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
