Carol Lynn Brown

Carol Lynn Brown, 53, of Beckley, WV. Passed away on January 11, 2023 from her battle with MDS. She was Born on July 17, 1969 in Beckley, the daughter of Troy and Dixie Cox of Coal City WV. 

Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was an outgoing, down to earth, beautiful, caring person with an infectious laugh. Carol was the volunteer coordinator at Hospice of Southern West Virginia, and loved working with all of her volunteers and coworkers. She truly believed the volunteers made a difference for families coming to hospice in their time of need.  She enjoyed planning events, shopping, road trips, and spending time with friends and family. Carol was very family oriented and loved nothing than spending time with her wonderful grandchildren. 

Preceded in death by parents Troy and Dixie Cox; brothers Allen Cox, Kenny Cox, and Terry Cox; sister Glenda Cox. Survived by loving husband of 33 years Lee Brown. Daughters Courtney Ward, husband Daniel of Daniels WV, Nena Perry husband Charles of Crab Orchard WV. Grandchildren Maci and Graci Perry, Abel and Charlotte Ward. Brothers Larry and Gary Cox. Sister Donna Canterbury. 

Services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 17 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Mitchem officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.  Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
