Bobby Kirby a longtime resident of Kanawha Falls WV died this past Wednesday the 28th at 10:30 PM after a short illness at Bowers Hospice house in Beckley. He was preceded in death by his son Robert, and his wife Miriam Sue Kirby. Hs is survived by his son Kim Kirby and his wife Michelle, a granddaughter Alissa, her husband Ryan and her children.
Bobby enjoyed his family, most of all his great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and almost everyone who knew him. He always had a smile and a joke along with an infectious laugh, and had a way of putting people at ease. Bobby was a retired banker who was with the Merchants National bank, and retired after 42 years. He had also been the treasurer of the First Christian Church in Montgomery WV since 1959, and retired from that position in September. He enjoyed his garden, hiking and still enjoyed walking in his neighborhood. Watching the trains rumbling by his house. He enjoyed his neighbors who also kept an eye on him, and we are very thankful for them. He was able to live independently for the 95 years of his life. The last two months he lived with Kim and Michelle.
Bobby did not want any arrangements, and we are honoring his wishes, in lieu of flowers we are asking donations be made to your local food pantries, animal shelters, and local hospice houses, or bibles in his honor from the Gideons, there is a great need in these areas.
We love and appreciate your prayers at this time, remember Bobby and how he has touched your life, and as you carry out these things in your lives, you will be honoring him.
