Ann M. Shumate

Ann M. Shumate, 81 passed away Friday, June 16, 2023 in in Medina, OH.

Ann was born on February 26, 1931 at Stover, WV. Ann attended Beckley College and Concord University where she received a bachelor’s degree in education. She also attended West Virginia University where she received a master’s degree in education. Ann taught elementary school for five years in the Raleigh County school system. She taught 4^th grade at Parma Park Elementary in the Parma, OH school system for 32 years. She retired with a total teaching time of 37 years. Ann married C. Keith Shumate on May 31, 1956 at Pearisburg, VA. Ann is survived by her husband Keith, 1 niece and 2 nephews.

Visitation for Ann will be Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. at Calfee Funeral Home, Beckley, WV.  Burial will be in the Calfee Cemetery at Mt. Tabor.
