Wanda Yvonne White

Wanda Yvonne White, 78, of Beckley, formerly of Mullens, WV, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 7, 2013 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, WV.
She was born on March 19, 1935, to the late Raymond Ray Johnson and Lucille Belle Fox Johnson.
She was a beautician and owned and operated her own salon, Wyoming Beauty Salon in Mullens, WV for 24 years.
She was a member of the BETA SIGMA PHI Sorority for 45 years. Wanda was very active in her sorority and met many lifelong friends that she cherished.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sisters, Phyllis June Johnson, Barbara Williams, Helen Ratliff, and a brother Roger Johnson.
Wanda is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Harold Owen White of Beckley, WV, her daughter Kim White, at home, who was by her side; son and daughter-in-law Greg White and Donna Slayton of Charleston, son and daughter-in-law Brad White and Lisa Samples White of Charleston, grandson Hunter White, granddaughters Alexa, Bria and Braelyn White of Charleston; sisters, Betty Graham of Mullens, WV and Patty Bard of Westerville, OH. She is also survived by many caring relatives and friends.
Wanda White was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She devoted her life to being a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She took pride in family traditions, hosting a Christmas Breakfast every year, where she would cook her famous Ham and Gravy for her entire extended family to enjoy. She loved to bake and always took on the challenge to try a new recipe.
A tribute to the life of Wanda White will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Calfee Funeral Home, 800 S. Oakwood Ave, Beckley with Pastor Roger Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, Princeton, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
