Thelma Rose Wills O’Dell Hale-Passed away Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Manor House Hospital in Bainbridge, Georgia. She had lived in Beckley, West Virginia from birth through a large part of her adult life. She had also lived in Mississippi, Japan, Alaska, New Mexico, Indiana, Ohio, North Carolina, Florida, and in her later years, Bainbridge, Georgia. She was born February 17, 1916 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nettie Bonds Wills. She was preceded in death by her first husband Thomas Richard (Jake) O’Dell Sr. and their seven year old son, Lawrence (Larry) Nelson O’Dell; her second husband, Jess Ison Hale and their son, Ronald Jess Hale; two sisters, Edith O. Via and Hallie M. Kessinger and one brother, Howard H. Wills. She is survived by a son, Thomas Richard O’Dell Jr. and wife Barbara of Crab Orchard, West Virginia; three grandsons, Josh Hale, Matt Hale, and Dawson Hale of Bainbridge, Georgia; a great grandson, Marshall Cox of Beckley, West Virginia; three granddaughters, Lori Benish of Beckley, West Virginia, Kimberly Bissonette of Cape Canaveral, Florida and Heather Keffer of Beckley, West Virginia; a great granddaughter, Kennedy Keffer of Beckley, West Virginia; as well as numerous members of her family and friends. Thelma was a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, she loved her flowers, cross-stitching, and punch-stitching, and was one of the best in both hobbies. She was always helping and cooking for others. She was dear to all of us and will be missed very much. Funeral arrangements are by Ivey Funeral Home in Bainbridge, Georgia on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Ivey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Rose Lawn Cemetery located in Bainbridge, Georgia after the funeral service.
