This rainy day, Tuesday October 27, 2009 can only show the sadness for the loss of our beautiful and beloved wife, mommy, ma maw, daughter, sister, and friend. Heaven has taken a great Angel!
Teresa Elaine Massey Reid, 52, of Oak Grove Road, Beckley, left this world, October 27, 2009, to join her Lord and Savior. Born May 2, 1957, in Beckley, she is the darling daughter of Wanda Massey Cooper of Coal City and the late Earl Eugene Massey. She faithfully attended the Oak Grove Christian Church with her family.
Teresa loved spending time with her family and friends, especially with her beloved grandchildren she adored. During her short illness, she never lost her sense of humor. If she was having a bad day, she would look for someone in worse condition than she. She was one of the friendliest and most thoughtful people a person ever could have met. She was loved by all that knew her. She spent her life caring for, and doing things, for others.
Teresa was a substitute cook for Raleigh County Schools, as well as a tax preparer for H&R Block. Before this, she worked for Howard Johnson’s/The Travel Plaza for thirteen years.
Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Michael Reid, who never left her side during her illness; son, David Reid and Missy Crouch; and, daughter, Shelly Aurednik and her husband, Tommy all of Beckley; two brothers, Earl Massey and Ricky Massey, of Beckley, step-father, Gene Cooper of Coal City, brother and sister-in-law, Shane and Jenny Paul of Fayetteville, NC. Two lovely grandchildren, Travis Aurednik and Allison Reid, both of Beckley. Nieces and nephews, Kellie Massey and Nikki Massey, both of Beckley and Rosanne Paul and Chad Paul of Fayetteville, NC, and one great niece, Kayleigh Russell. She will be forever loved, greatly missed, and always in our hearts.
A celebration of Teresa’s life will be Friday, October 30, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Oak Grove Christian Church, 273 Oak Grove Road, Beckley, with Pastor Joe Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, October 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
