Teddy Glen Schuman

June 10, 1938 — August 13, 2009

Teddy Glen Schuman, 71, of Beckley passed away Thursday, August 13, 2009 in a Beckley hospital following a long illness. Born June 10, 1938 at Ravencliff, WV he was the son of the late Hugo and Evelyn Wavie Stewart Schuman. He was a disabled mine section foreman, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Ted brought so much happiness to so many people with his sense of humor and positive outlook on life. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by sisters; Kitty Gentry and Margaret Herron and a brother, Eugene Schuman, Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Farmer Schuman, he was the proud father and grandfather of daughter Susan Newsome and her husband Richard of Jumping Branch, WV and son, Eric Schuman and his wife Joanna of Omaha, NE., grandchildren; Joshua and Noah Graham of Jumping Branch, Natalie and Katie Schuman of Omaha. He is also survived by sons; Ted Schuman, Jr. of Puyallup, WA and Stuart Schuman of Tacoma, WA, daughter, Debbie Suelzle and her husband Curt of Puyallup, WA, grandson, Jason Powell of Tacoma, brother, Stuart (Sonny) Schuman and his wife Sue of Beckley, sisters; Barbara Stacy and her husband Richard of Jacksonville, FL, Jenny Lohnes and her husband Robert of Union, OH, Helen Pizzino and her husband Jack of Glen Fork, WV.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2009 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wayne Nutter and Pastor Lee Swor officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Jan Lafferty, Steve Wood, Doug Palmar, Ralph Parker, Steve Dillon and Melan Klipa. Honorary pallbearer will be Jack Dempsey.
