Ruby Cook Daraban

December 10, 1926 — February 26, 2011

Ruby Cook Daraban, 84, of Beckley, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011 after a short illness. Born December 10, 1926 in Glen Rogers, WV, she was the daughter of the late Alven Arnold and Bessie Brinegar Cook. Ruby was a retired head bookkeeper for Mosler Safe Co. and attended the Church of God. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Daraban; sisters, Mary Treadway, Irene Arbaugh and Micki Ladich and by a brother, Alven J. Cook.
Survivors include brothers, Boyd Cook and wife Yvonne and Buddy Cook and companion, Andrea Taylor, niece, Debbie Shrader and husband Randy and children, Brad, Cody & Michaela, nephew, Dale Cook and wife Renea and children Lindsey and Adam, niece, Lori Cook, nephew Brian Cook, nephew Buddy Ray Cook and wife Cindy and children, Mallory, Cory, Cameron, Madison and Kevin, niece, Nancy and husband John Dibona and children, Dee Dee, Alicia, Tina and Tony, nephew, Donald Treadway and companion Roe and children, Christina Kevin and wife Jill and their children, Tyler and Sarah, nephew, Tim and wife Dawn Strader and children, Irene and Farrah, sister-in-law, Ella Mae Cook and her children, Ann and Alven, brother-in-law, Ernie Ladich, and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2011 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, 800 S. Oakwood Ave., Beckley with Pastor Reba Lockard officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
Family & friends will serve as pallbearers.
