Mrs. Ruby Alice Justice Basconi, 83, of Beckley passed away Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Villages at Greystone after a long illness.
She was born July 23, 1931 to the late Oscar Claude and Gaye Perry Justice.
Ruby Alice was a graduate of Oceana High School. She was a homemaker, caregiver, and loving mother and grandmother to 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, John Basconi; her daughter, Palma (Donnie) Stafford of Beckley; sons, John Basconi, Jr of Fairdale and Anthony “Tony” (Melanie) Basconi of Beckley; grandchildren, Jason (Kellie) Stafford, Nicholas (Jami) Stafford, Dereck Stafford, T.J. (Leslie) Basconi, Alyson Basconi, Whitney Basconi, Monique (Tim) Basconi and Alexis (Greg) White; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Louise Derby of Elizabeth City, NC, Gloria June Cunningham and Linda Sue Jeager both of Virginia Beach, VA, Judy Goodson of Asheville, NCand brothers, Russell (Eleanor) of Beckley, Robert (Francis) of New Port Richey, FL, Oscar (Carolyn) of Princeton, WV and James (Susan) Justice of Jesse, WV.
A funeral liturgy will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2014 at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church with Monsignor Samuel Sacus officiating. A Rite of Committal will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Jason Stafford, Nicholas Stafford, Dereck Stafford, T. J. Basconi, Dakota Bowyer and Eddie Basconi.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Raleigh Center and The Villages at Greystone-Courtyrard.
