Robert Earl Godbey, Sr.

Robert Earl Godbey, Sr., 86, of Bonham, TX formerly of Mabscott, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in Bonham, TX. Born April 15, 1923, he was the son of the late Wayman Ike and Irene Shrewsbury Godbey. Robert was a retired U.S. Postal worker and a U.S. Marine veteran of W.W. II. Semper Fi Grandpa! He loved Mabscott and was a resident most of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann Godbey in February,1998, and brothers; Winston, Ray and Everett Godbey. Robert was a devoted father and grandfather whom will forever be in our hearts.
Survivors include his son, Robert Earl Godbey, Jr. and wife Sherry of North Richland Hills, TX, grandson, Robert E. Godbey, III of Ft. Worth, TX, granddaughter, Courtney Ann Godbey of North Richland Hills, TX, brother, Jacke Godbey of FL and sisters; Edna and Maxine of OH.
Graveside service and burial will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation.
