Rachel Imojean Perkins

Rachel Imojean Perkins, 78, of Glen View, WV, passed away Friday, February 25, 2011 at Bowers Hospice House following a short illness. Born September 29, 1932 at Beeson, WV, she was the daughter of the late Vesper and Dorothy Bailey Shrewsbury. Rachel was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed quilting, cooking and canning, bird watching and working in her flower garden. She was secretary of the Glen View Neighborhood Crime Watch. Besides her parents Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, A.J. Perkins, daughter, Regina Kay Perkins, grandson, Andrew Perkins, sister, Reba Lambert and brother, Vernard Shrewsbury.
Survivors include sons, Richard Wayne Perkins and wife Regina of Lewisburg, WV, Jerry Perkins and wife Norma of Cleveland, VA; daughters, Rebecca Clark and husband Ricky of Glen View and Ramona Peterson of Albermarle, NC; grandchildren, Michelle Hall, Lisa Lilly, Jessica Bower, Kristen Smith, Eric Clark, Jessie Perkins, Jerrod Perkins, Brandon Peterson; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Godfrey, Geraldean Blevins, Rosemary Womack and brother Gary Shrewsbury.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monnday, February 28, 2011 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, 800 S. Oakwood Ave., Beckley with Pastor Roger Pauley officiating. Burial will follow in the Canaday Cemetery at Glen View. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Clark, Trey Lilly, Ray Perkins, Will Hall, Jerrod Perkins, David Bower.
