Noka Faye Farley

Noka Faye Farley, 92, passed away July 1, 2010, after a short illness.
She was born March 31, 1918, the youngest of three daughters. Noka graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1936. She was a longtime resident of Beckley.
She worked as a dental hygienist for many years. After she retired she volunteered her services to the Dental Health Center located on Harper Road for 25 years, teaching children how to care for their teeth.
She was an active member of the First Christian Church of Beckley where she sang in the choir for 35 years and taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. Within the community she was also a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Bill Farley, and her sister Mona Galaspie. She is survived by her sister Elaine Brewer of Beckley; daughters Mona E. “Missy” Gulbin of Johns Creek, Ga., and Jody Farley of Memphis, Tenn.; niece Meg Galaspie of South Charleston, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Jay Gulbin of Cumming, Ga., and Amy Gulbin of Alpharetta, Ga., as well as several great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday July 5, 2010, at Calfee Funeral Home, Beckley, with the Rev. Donald Snyder officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
