Marie Ada Brown

Marie Ada Brown, 89, of Beckley, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010 in a Beckley hospital. Born March 20, 1921 at Sun, WV, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Mary Ballard Sweeney. Marie was a homemaker and had been a resident of Raleigh County since 1934. She was a member of the Sprague Freewill Baptist Church and attended the Shepherd’s Center and the Raleigh County Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Lee Brown in 2007.
Survivors include her daughter, Penny Louise Harris and husband David of Arnett, grandchildren; Monica Harris, Becky Domingues and husband Matt and Matthew Harris, great-grandchildren; Curtis and Riley Domingues and Addisyn Harris, sisters; Margaret Hutchinson of Beckley and Clara Bowden of Prosperity.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2010 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Snuffer officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to service on Sunday.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
