Margueritte Ora Peters

Margueritte Ora Peters, 89, of Mabscott, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010, in a Beckley health care center. She was born July 7, 1921, in Thurmond, WV, the daughter of the late Edward and Lilly Mae Gibson Wood. She retired from the Beckley Hospital after 35 years of service. She was a member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church She lived most of her life in Raleigh County and enjoyed cooking and crocheting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John T. Peters, Jr., two brothers; Eddie Wood, Gene Wood, and two sisters Katherine Moore, and Georgia Gill.
She is survived by one son John T. Peters III and his wife Aneta of Harrisville, WV; one daughter, Juanna Arnold and her husband James of Olympia, WA; five grandchildren Melissa McDonald, Melanie Britton and her husband Kevin, Franklin McDonald and his wife Beth, Jeff Arnold and his wife Theresa, and James Arnold; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Jo Vandall of Beckley and Billie Boston of Canton, OH.
A funeral liturgy will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2010, at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church with Monsignor Samuel Sacus officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Calfee Funeral Home, 800 South Oakwood Avenue, Beckley where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Mr. Don Wise officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
