Margaret Rose Shanks

Margaret Rose Shanks, 86 of Beckley passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 in a Beckley hospital. Born January 7, 1924 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late James and Hilda Tolbert Prince. Margaret was a retired nurse anesthetist having worked at Raleigh General Hospital for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Beckley and the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Margaret was a lifelong resident of Raleigh County.
Survivors include her daughter, Elaine L. Shanks of Beckley, sons; Edward T. Shanks, Jr. and wife Gloria of Pembroke, FL and Charles P. Shanks of Camp Creek, WV, sister, Mildred Rogar of Beckley, brother, Thomas Prince and wife Madge of Beckley, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2010 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Sunday.
