Madeline Peggy Diggs

Madeline 'Peggy' Diggs, 84, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012, at Avalon by Otterbein Nursing Home in Maineville, Ohio.
Born December 6, 1927, at Stover, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Chloe Edwards. She was a retired nurse, last working at the VA Medical Center in Beckley and Hospice. Peggy was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was the pride of her life.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Linda) Matherly of Crab Orchard and Nancy Myles of Morrow, Ohio; son-in-law, Stephen Myles; sisters, Glenna Spring of Monroe, MI and Patricia Nowlin of Jacksonville, FL; five grandchildren, Kelly McKinney of Beckley; Brian Matherly and wife, Kelly, of Crab Orchard; Stacy Reisinger and husband, Jamie, of South Lebanon, OH; Stephen Myles II and wife, Katie, of Cold Springs, KY; and John Myles and wife, Amanda, of Champaign, IL; ten great-grandchildren, Madison and Ian McKinney; Isaac and Allie Matherly; Braxton, CJ, Abra, Elleigh, and Brooklynne Reisinger; and Emma Myles.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, March 15, at Calfee Funeral Home in Beckley with Dr. Rollan Roberts officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Family will serve as pallbearers

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Otterbein Homes, c/o Otterbein Maineville, 580 N. State Rte 741, Lebanon, OH 45036 in her memory. The family would especially like to thank each staff member of Avalon by Otterbein for their love, care, and compassion in caring for Peggy and also to Hospice of Cincinnati for their loving care and support in her final days.
