Lucille Evelyn Thacker

January 14, 1926 — July 2, 2010

Lucille Evelyn Thacker, 84, of Beckley, died Friday, July 2, 2010 at Pine Lodge in Beckley following a long illness. Born January 14, 1926 in Sun, WV, she was the daughter of the late Arba and Pearl Harsh. She was a homemaker, a life-long resident of Beckley, and a member of the First Church of God in Beckley.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Geneva Snuffer, one brother, Lawrence Harsh, and two half-sisters, Thelma Truman and Frieda Vargo.
Survivors include her husband Robert Rice Thacker of Beckley, sons Robert M. Thacker and his wife Diane of Shady Spring and David H. Thacker and his wife Pamela of Lunchburg, VA, daughter Sandra Parker of Indianapolis, IN, grandchildren James M. Thacker, Michael S. Thacker, Greg Pastor, Kimberly Smith and one great grandchild Christopher Pastor. She is also survived by her brother Jim Harsh of Beaver, niece Beverly Skiles of Lester, and great nieces Cindi, Wendi, and Karen.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Adam Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in memory of Lucy Thacker to the Beckley Area Foundation, 129 Main St. Suite 203 Beckley, WV 25801.
Pallbearers will be Men of the North Beckley Church of Christ.
