Leota Foster Higgins, RN, of Beckley, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2019 in Main Street Care, Hinton, WV.
Born August 1, 1915 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Edna and Arthur Foster.
Leota was a former registered nurse at Raleigh General Hospital and did public health with Cabell and Raleigh County.
She was a member of Raleigh County Nurses Association, Daughters of the American Revolution, Azalea Garden Club, Beckley Woman’s Club and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
Leota was preceded in death by her husband, William Lovell Higgins.
Survivors include one daughter, Annette Higgins Elliott of Tampa, FL; two grandchildren, LeeAnn Ashley Elliott of Tampa, FL and Richard Ashton Elliott of Atlanta, GA.
A graveside service will be 11 am Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Susan Claytor officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Stephen’s Episcopal day School, 200 Virginia St., Beckley, WV 25801.
