Kathy Perdue Cheek Scalf, 59, of Crab Orchard, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. Born January 26, 1954 in Beckley, she was the daughter of Helen Wilson Perdue and the late Everett Freeman Perdue. Besides her father she was also preceded in death by her husband, Gardner Dean Scalf and brother, Emory “Butch” Perdue.
Kathy was a homemaker who really loved the time she was able to spend with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory besides her mother are her daughters, Frances Cheek of Crab Orchard, Tammy Cheek of Crab Orchard and Pamela Lawson and her husband Robert of Shenandoah, VA; grandchildren, Corey Cheek, Mitchell Savina, II, Charles “C.J.” Maggard, Jr., Monica Ballard, Timothy Savina and Megan Lawson; great grandchild, Macie Cheek; brothers and sisters, David Perdue, Judy Lewis, Wanda Pike, Danny Perdue and Melony Perdue and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Billy Calhoun officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 p.m. until time of service Friday. Burial will follow at Calfee Cemetery.
