Kathleen Julia Ruth

August 29, 1917 — January 18, 2009

Kathleen Julia Ruth, 91, of Mabscott, died January 18, 2009 in a local hospital following an extended illness. Born August 29, 1917 at Sophia, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Lewis and Anne Bell Trail Harrah. Mrs. Ruth was a homemaker and served with the Women's Army Corps during WW II. She was of the Baptist faith. Besides her parents Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Ruth, sisters; Thelma Elsie Foster and Virginia Lee Eicorn and brothers; James Glenville Harrah, Kenneth Gordon Harrah, Ralph Harold Harrah and Wilmer Earl Harrah.

Survivors include four daughters; Shelby J. Morefield and husband Gary of Beckley, Sally J. McClaugherty and husband Randy D. of Prosperity, Debbie Harper and husband Alan of Prosperity and Mary A. Ruth of Mabscott, son; Danny H. Ruth of Mabscott, grandchildren; Jonathan Morefield and wife Beth, Randy D. McClaugherty, Jr., Jamie Lee McClaugherty and wife Trisha, Jeremy Ruth and wife Gina, Sarah Ruth, great-grandchildren; Hunter Morefield, Dakota Lee McClaugherty, Devin Austin McClaugherty, Kaylee Jane McClaugherty.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon, Wednesday, January 21, 2009 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to service on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Jamie McClaugherty, Randy McClaugherty, Alan Harper, Gary Morefield
