Karen Lynn Barley (Kincaid) Metrick

September 22, 1962 — January 24, 2021

Karen Lynn Barley (Kincaid) Metrick, 58, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Bowers Hospice House with her family by her side. Born September 22, 1962 in Windsor, MO she was the daughter of Dixie Symantha Barley and the late Vernon Franklin Barley.

Karen was an Office Manager at Crab Orchard/MacArthur PSD before becoming a fulltime pastor’s wife. She enjoyed watching I Love Lucy, anything to do with Peyton Manning and going to North Carolina for Mayberry Days. Karen loved God, church and her family more than anything and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.

Besides with her mother, Dixie Barley, survivors include her husband, Dr. Rick Metrick; daughters, Symantha Calfee and husband Jon, Amanda Sue Sauchuck and husband Frank, Heather Giles and husband Mike, Hanna Dillard and husband Will and Hollie Hinchcliffe and husband Jered; grandchildren, Andrew and Mason Calfee, Piper Sauchuck, Owen, Austin, Emmalyn, Ian, Nolan and Dylan Giles and Tevin Dillard; sisters, Kathy Lovell and husband Richard, Libby Dotson and husband Johnny and Pat Barley along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other family and friends.

Because of Covid-19 there will be a private family service 1pm, Wednesday, January 27 at Calfee Funeral Home. The service will be livestreamed at https://my.gather.app/remember/karen-metrick

Family will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank caregivers Molly, Vicki and Joyce for the outstanding care and compassion they provided Karen.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Jones Memorial Baptist Church, c/o Calfee Funeral Home, 800 S. Oakwood Ave., Beckley, WV 25801
