Juanita Martin Ford

Juanita Martin Ford, 94, of Shady Spring passed away March 9, 2011 at the Bowers Hospice House. Born June 3, 1916 in Abney WV, she was the daughter of the late Robert Franklin and Delilah Lavenia Lilly Martin. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of the community.
Juanita was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shady Spring where she served as past Sunday school teacher and past choir leader. She loved painting and volunteer work at the VA Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Taft Ford, and brothers, William Martin and Robert Martin.
She is survived by daughters, Jeanette Phillips and husband William H. of Daniels and Annabelle Cole and husband Albert of Beaver; sons, Teddy C. Ford of Shady Spring and Robert ‘Danny’ D. Ford of Daniels; grandchildren, David L. Phillips and wife Gillian of Kissimmee FL, Kathy J. Hutchison and husband Michael of Denver CO, Timothy T. Ford and wife Dawn of Bristol CT, and Justin D. Ford of Beckley; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, sister Oma F. Akers, and loving care givers, Marie Skelton, Drema Roach, Nancy Ward.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011 at Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Delvin D. Elwell officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family suggests that donations be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Road, Beckley, WV 25801.
