Joyce Lee Buchanan

Joyce Lee Maxey Buchanan, 87, of Beckley passed away Monday, December 07, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House. She was born on September 3, 1928, the daughter of the late Walter Lee and Stella Opal Cloud Maxey.
She was an active member of the Beckley Art Group, Moose Club, and Rolling Hills CB Club. Joyce was employed at Lilly Ice and Bottling Works, Inc. prior to her retirement. She also worked at Quality Bakery Shop of Beckley, WV. Joyce enjoyed spending time with family and raising llama.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lewis C. Buchanan and sons, Michael D. Bell and Larry L. Buchanan; sisters, Mildred Cloud Farley, Edna Lois Mullens and Virginia Cloud.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughter Carolyn Via of Beckley with whom she made her home and her grandchildren, Michele (Brian) Denny, Angela (David) Hairston and great-grandchildren Chelsea Dufour and Alex Denny, as well as her great-great granddaughter Journey Grant; daughter, Jonnie Butterworth Coccioli of Dundalk, MD and grandchildren Toby Larue (Steve) Haynes, John Harding and Virginia Harding. She is also survived by grandchildren Kip (Heather) Buchanan, Scott (Jennifer) Buchanan and Brett (Ivy) Buchanan. She is also survived by 4 more grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Carl Sellards officiating Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family 2 hours prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
Family member will serve as pallbearers.
