John Jeffrey Tabor, 52, of Beckley died Sunday, July 17, 2011 following a sudden illness.
Born April 29, 1959 in Beckley, he was the son of Glen Dale Tabor, Sr. of Beaver and the late Lois E. Jarrell Tabor.
John was very involved with the youth in the community having founded the Beckley Bash Baseball Team where they won three state titles in 2002, 2005 and 2006. He also coached the Marsh Fork High School baseball team and numerous Little League and Babe Ruth teams. He enjoyed good music and was an avid movie watcher.
Besides his father, he is survived by two sons, J.J. Tabor and wife Kara of Beckley and Justin Tabor of Beckley; a daughter, Chelsi Tabor of Beckley; grandchildren, Madison, Trey and Aiden Tabor; sister, Glenda (Gee) Patten of Coal City; brother, Glen Dale Tabor, II of Beckley; nephew Glen Dale Tabor, III of Beckley and numerous cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted 2 pm Thursday, July 21, at the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Randall Pugh officiating. Friends may call on the family Wednesday from 5 to 9 pm at the funeral home.
