Jo Ann Malcolm

Jo Ann Hutchison Malcolm, 81, of Beckley, died Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Bowers Hospice House following a long illness. Born May 26, 1930 at the Beckley Hospital in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Carroll and Eva Scott Hutchison.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother John Hutchison.
Jo Ann was a graduate of WWHS, class of 1949. She attended and graduated from Concord College. She was a secretary for Greenbrier Dairy and the Bank of Raleigh, prior to becoming Secretary, Vice-President, and Owner of Tire Mart Inc. where she worked for more than 17 years with her husband until they sold the company and started their retirement together.
Jo Ann had a love for cooking and enjoyed hosting luncheons and dinners for friends and family. She was an avid traveler with a special love for the Caribbean and Myrtle Beach. Jo Ann was a life-time member of the First Christian Church of Beckley where she attended all of her life and was a member of the Friendship Class Group #2 Ladies Circle and played piano several years for the Friendship Class. She was a life-long resident of Beckley.
Jo Ann will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her beloved husband Robert (Bob) Malcolm of 55 years, daughter Ann Leigh Martin and her husband David of Beckley, granddaughter Crystal Callaway and her husband Travis of Grandview WV; granddaughter Melinda Hensley and her husband Bobby of Beckley and great grandchildren Kayleigh Callaway, Ethan Callaway, Michael Callaway, all of Grandview, and Alexis “Lexy” Hensley of Beckley.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum B. Friends may call Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be P.K. Ellison, John Chandler, Charlie Houck, Matt Stanley, Doug Ramsden, John File, and Wayne Tucker.
