Jo Ann Beckett

Jo Ann Beckett, 83, of Crab Orchard, WV passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Raleigh General Hospital following a long illness. Born December 24, 1927 at Fitzpatrick, WV, she was the daughter of the late Clair and Moda Meadows Beckett.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant brother; sister, Gertrude; brothers, Raymond, Edward and Mason.
Jo Ann graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1946. She was a former employee of G.C. Murphy Co. in Beckley with 40 years of service in buying and merchandising. She was a member of the Crab Orchard Baptist Church and the Fitzpatrick Class.
Survivors include brothers, Wesley Beckett (Phyllis), William Beckett (Patty), Jimmy Beckett (Reba) and Dempsey Beckett (Judy), several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Pearl Rogers.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Sisson officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
