James “Jim” Clark Gray, 71, of Crab Orchard, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013. Born January 8, 1942 at Slab Fork, he was the son of the late Lacey and Goldie Clark Gray. Jim was a retired coal miner for Long Branch Energy and a member of the Glen White Church of God. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany. Jim had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sons-in-law, Terry M. Goff and Gene Alan Byrd; sisters, Eva Terry, Glida Lilly and brothers, Louis, Herbert and Henry Gray.
He is survived by his wife Linda Acord Gray; two daughters, Donna Gray Byrd, Diane Gray Holdren and husband Russell; son, Justin Gray and his girlfriend Samantha Alderman; two grandson, James Goff and Gregory Gray; three granddaughters, Felicia Sydenstricker and her boyfriend Shannon Holt, Samantha Phillips and Ciara Sydenstricker and two great grandsons, Skylar Justin Gray and Harley Holt and by two sisters and 5 brothers.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Glen White Church of God with Rev. Jesse Farley officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Acord Mountain Cemetery.
