As the sun came up on her favorite day of the week, Ida Lucille Beverly Sizemore Chambers Wheeler went to sing in God’s Holy Choir on Sunday, January 27, 2013. Lucille was born on December 8, 1921 to the Rev. Edgar and Buna Brewster Beverly of Indian Creek, WV. Preceding her in death were her first husband and father of her children, Thomas E. Sizemore. After his passing she married Lewis Chambers and then George Wheeler. A son, Douglas Edward Sizemore; granddaughter, Karen Marie Sizemore; grandson, Larry Ray Shields; brother, Fred Edward Beverly; adopted sister, Elsie St Clair and her husband, Arthur St Clair and step grandchild, Tim Stewart also preceded her in death.
Lucille was the pastor for many years of the Indian Creek Community Church on the Welch – Pineville Rd. She loved to sing, play the piano and being with people. She was employed for a short time at Buddy’s Discount in Pineville. She lived in Welch, WV and then moved to Beaver, WV to be near her daughter. She was attending Beaver United Methodist Church at the time of her death.

Sizemore and wife Kathy of South Pasadena, FL; grandchildren, Rhonda Shields Breen and husband Mike of Tampa, FL, Dana Shields Thomas and husband Paul of Fayetteville, NC, Tennis Randall Shields and Freda Kay of Southaven, MS, Greg Sizemore of Germany, Sonya Sizemore Techton and husband Sam of Wesley Chapel, FL and Jeremy, Greg and Amanda Stewart who would visit with Lucille every chance they had; great-grandchildren, Melissa Proctor (Dustin) of AL, Thomas Shields (Melissa) of Welch, WV, William Jones of Fayetteville, NC, Joesph Techton (Adrianne) of FL, Megan Techton of FL, Amanda and Eleanor Sizemore of VA, Amber Sorah of MS; great-great grandchildren, Jameson, Conner and Violet, children of Melissa, Jacob, son of William and Charlotte, daughter of Joseph; sister, Kitty Campbell and Howard of OH; brother, Lyndal Beverly of Baileysville, WV, Marsha Wheeler and Barney of Princeton; a friend that was like a daughter to her, Mrs. Deloris Bowles and Don of Welch – Pineville Rd. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel where a scripture prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. conducted by Pastor Paul Stadelman. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Indian Creek Community Church on the Welch – Pineville Rd with Pastor Scott Cline and Bill Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny.
