Hubert J. Bleigh, 87, of Beckley, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013. Born August 27, 1925 in Newville, WV he was the son of the late Samuel E. and Ada M. Bright Bleigh.
Hubert was a retired Route Manager for Purity Bakery and a member of the First United Methodist Church where he was a former Sunday School teacher and member of the United Methodist Men. Hubert was also a member of the Emmaus Community, a 32 degree Mason, member of American Legion Post 32 and an avid Marshall Football fan. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling.
Survivors include his wife, Ilene V. Bleigh; son, H. Allen Bleigh and his wife Darla of Cross Lanes, WV; daughter, Patricia “Pat” Hudson and her husband Terry of Flat Top; grandchildren, Hubert Allen “A II” Bleigh and wife Elaine of Cross Lanes, Rev. Timothy Bleigh of Phillipi, Stephanie Lusher of Lexington, KY, Steven Hudson of Fairmont and Sheena Bostic and her husband Brad of Beckley; 5 great grandchildren, Lauren Lusher, Tyler Davis, Samuel Bleigh, Kiley Bostic and Kooper Bostic; cousin, Kitty James and numerous other family.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, Beckley with Rev. Rick Waller, Rev. Greg Hayes, Rev Homer Stewart and Rev. Timothy Bleigh officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Calfee Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
American Legion Post 32 will conduct military honors at the cemetery
