Gale Lewis Redden

Master Sergeant (Ret) Gale Lewis Redden, 73 of Boonville, NC, formerly of White Oak, WV, passed away Friday, October 22, 2010 following a lengthy illness. Born March 6, 1937 in Beaver, WV, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Myrtle Arnold Redden. Gale retired as a Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service. After his retirement he sold mining equipment for Westmorland Coal Co. (Central Supply) and was a sales representative for Campbell’s Soup. He was a founding member of Victory Baptist Church in Beaver, WV and currently a member, of Island Ford Baptist Church in Jonesville, NC where he served as Deacon and church clerk. Gale was an avid coin collector and loved to sit on his deck and watch nature and wildlife. He had been a resident of North Carolina since 1996. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Lewis Redden, brothers; Dick, Tom and Denny Redden, sisters; Joann (Sally) Lilly, Sandra K. Griffith and step-brother, Guy M. Rollyson.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Joan Furrow Redden, sons; David Redden of Boonville, NC, Steven Redden and wife Sue of Jonesville, NC, Randolph Redden and wife Ann of Beaver, WV, grandchildren; Steve Drum of Winston-Salem, NC, Amy Drum of Jonesville, NC, Rachel Redden of Beaver, WV, and great-granddaughter, Bailee Drum of Winston-Salem.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rollan Roberts and Pastor Rodney Canter officiating. Burial will follow in the Redden Cemetery in Beaver. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to service on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Steven and Randolph Redden, Jerry Stump, Jerry Lilly, Gary Matherly and George Young.
