Evangeline (Van) Bennett Williams, 91, of Shady Spring, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014. Born March 26, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Noah and Vida Dobbins Bennett. Besides her parents, Van was preceded in death by husbands Robert W. Arthur, Sr. and Eden Williams; daughter, Carolyn Ratliff; son, Robert (Bob) Arthur, II; sister, Virginia Meador and a granddaughter, Robin Arthur.
Van was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shady Spring and the Eastern Star, Chapter 136 Coal City.
Van is survived by her grandchildren Aaron Ratliff, Chuck Ratliff, Kim Morrow and Joe Arthur.
Funeral services will be 3 pm Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Shady Spring with Pastor Delvin Elwell and Pastor Brian Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow at the Williams Cemetery in White Oak. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service.
