Ellen Sue Scott

Ellen Sue Scott, 60, of Beckley, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at her residence.

Born June 5, 1951 in Summers Co., she was the daughter of Virginia Cox Buckland and the late Orval Lancin Buckland. She was a 1969 graduate of Hinton High School as well as a graduate of Concord College. Sue worked as an accountant for 23 years. She was a member of the Stanaford Missionary Baptist Church and served as the church organist. Sue loved flowers, sewing, photography, and mostly, reading her Bible. She lived her life with enormous faith and dedication for seeking salvation for the lost. Her testimonies for the Lord will never be forgotten.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Buckland.

She is survived by her husband, John William Scott; sons, J.R. Scott and wife Kim of Grandview and Bobby Scott and wife Stacie of Beckley; grandchildren, Jared Scott, Brianna Scott and Shawn Mayes; great grandchild, Elaie; brother, Michael Buckland and wife Cindy of Florida and sister, Karen Cales and husband Jack of Hinton, WV. In addition, she left behind a host of extended family including aunts and uncles, brother and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grand nephews an nieces, cousins, friends, and her large church family whom she all loved dearly.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Stanaford Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor George Wood and Pastor Phillip Lilly officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Scott, J.R. Scott, Jared Scott, Tommy Scott, Stuart Scott, and Mark Scott.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Stanaford Missionary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 294, Stanaford, WV 25927.
