Elizabeth Christeen Jennings

Elizabeth Christeen Jennings, 84, of Beckley, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013. Born February 26, 1929 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Henry Wyman and Lola Hutchens Boblett.
Elizabeth was a retired Raleigh County School Teacher having taught at Institute Elementary for many years. She was a member of the Orchard Valley Women’s Club Degree of Honor, Senior Friends at Raleigh General Hospital and the Oak Grove Christian Church. Elizabeth loved spending time sewing, gardening and working in her flower garden.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Lowery Buford Jennings; sisters, Ruby Huffman and Mary Cathleen Scarafino and brothers, Thomas, Willie (Ronce), Kenneth, James and Robert Boblett.
Survivors include her sister, Vera Snyder; brother, Muriel (Pete) Boblett; daughter, Frances Ilene Lavinder and her husband Forrest; sons, Lowery Wayne Jennings and his wife Judy, Ronald Howard Jennings and his wife Mary and Dennis Warren Jennings and his wife Kyoko; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Calfee Funeral Home with Pastor Kelly Gowan officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, December 2, 2013 from 6-8PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Calfee Cemetery in Mt. Tabor.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
