Dora Alice O'Neal

Dora Alice O’Neal, 88, of Beckley, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Bowers Hospice House. Born July 17, 1925 in Crossville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Homer Martin and Dora Lee Templeton Moore. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Homer Junior Moore and sisters, Margie Moore Calloway and Erma Louise Moore.
Alice was a retired R.N. retiring from the Beckley VA Medical Center. She was a very creative person and had a love for books.. She was an artist, charter member and two time president of the Beckley Art Group. She was also a member of the Raleigh General Nurses Alumni Association.
Alice is survived by her son, Randy O’Neal and his wife Sue of Beckley; grandchildren, Dr. Chris O’Neal and his wife Ashley of Wheeling, WV, Kevin O’Neal of Beckley and Mike Guilliams and his wife Rebecca of Milton, WV; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Emma, Molly and Zoe; brothers, James “Les” Moore of Daniels, WV and Allen Wayne Moore and his wife Celia of Crab Orchard, WV.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Frank James and Pastor Scott Dameron officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 1:30 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Dr., Beckley, WV 25801.
