Donald Burgess

Donald Earl Burgess, 62, of Beckley passed away Monday, November 23 in Beckley. Born November 18, 1953 in Cleveland, OH he was the son of the late Helen Ruth Davidson Burgess. Besides his mother Donald was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Burgess and his grandparents.
Donald was a retired US Army Supply Specialist. After retiring from the Army he worked for the VA Hospital for over 10 years. He was an avid bowler and cherished the time he spent with grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Margit “Maggie” Feger Burgess; father, Boykin Earl Burgess and his wife Nora; daughter, Denise Burgess; son, Tyrone Burgess and his wife Tracy; grandchildren, Marcus, Sienna, Sariah, Sidney, Ceceilia, Niko, Ezra, Samone, Mya and Marley; brothers, Wayne Burgess and Kevin Burgess and his wife Carla; nieces, Tianna, Twanna, Carlie and Kelly Burgess and Janine Feger; nephew, Marcel Feger and his wife Sandra; mother-in-law, Luise Feger; brother-in-law, Rolf Feger and his wife Marlene along with numerous other aunts, uncles and grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Calfee Funeral home Chapel with Evangelist Dreama Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Calfee Cemetery at Mt. Tabor. Friends may visit with the family 2 hours prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff in the SICU at Raleigh General Hospital.
