Dana Leigh Brooks

Dana Leigh Ball Brooks, 52, of Beckley, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Raleigh General Hospital. Born July 20, 1959 in Beckley she was the daughter of the late Jack G. Ball, a well known sports figure and boxing promoter in Raleigh Co. during the early 70’s and a member of the Summers Co. Athletic Hall of Fame and the late Connie S. Boitnott Ball, a nurse at Pinecrest Sanitarium for 25 years.
Dana was a member of Daniels Bible Church. She was a people person and animal lover.
Survivors include her husband, Randy E. Brooks; step children, Tammy Crook and husband Eric of Cool Ridge, Randy Brooks, Jr. and wife Bridget of Ft. Hood, TX, Melissa Brooks and Michael Brooks of Beckley; step grandchildren, Adam, Justin, James, Sarah, Kathryn, Isaac, Timothy and Caleb; uncle, Charles Boitnott of San Mateo, CA and a very special friend, Elsie McCray of Beckley.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Daniels Bible Church with Pastor Don Pfleger officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service on Tuesday.
Family and friend will serve as pallbearers.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Daniels Bible Church,
