Clifford Lee Brown, 69, of Surveyor, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at home following a long illness. Born June 3, 1941 at Glen Fork, WV, he was the son of the late Elbert Lee and Mary Rosalee Chrystal Reed Brown. Clifford was a former lineman for General Motors in Baltimore, MD. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Lester Church of God. He had been a resident of Surveyor for the past 13 years. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Margaret Brown; brothers, Junior, Billy, Theodure and Charles Brown; sisters, Geraldine, Elaine and Oreta (Doodle) Brown.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary and husband Barry Stout of Salado, TX, sons, Clifford and Mary Brown of Harker Heights, TX and Christopher and Heather Brown of Surveyor; grandchildren, Joshua Brown, Dena Edmoson, Brianna Brooks, Amber Foster, Sabrina Slocum, Veronica Brown, Kaitlin Brown, and Christina Brown; great-grandchildren, Haley and Michael Edmoson, Isaiah Brooks, Kinsley Brown, Marissa Lancaster, Aniaya Slocum, DeVonte, and DaMonte Foster; brothers and sisters, Howard and wife Thelma Brown, Jamie Brown, Charlotte and husband Gene Cendroski.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, 800 South Oakwood Avenue, Beckley, with Pastor Charlie Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery at Surveyor. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
