Born at Bluefield, WV on January 7, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Robert T. and Annie Townley Hypes. Carolyn was an avid bowler, enjoyed working in her yard and around her home. She graduated from Bluefield High School in 1961. She retired from the IRS after 17 years of service.
