Brenda Sue Watkins Richmond

Brenda Sue “Watkins” Richmond, 61, of Shady Spring, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013. Born October 17, 1951 in Oak Hill, WV, she was the daughter of Juanita Meador Slutterink of Beckley and the late Robert E. Lee Watkins. Brenda was a former restaurant manager and server. She played Buffet the Clown and loved bringing joy to all kids. Brenda served her country serving with the U.S. Navy. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a twin sister, Linda Watkins.
Survivors include her husband, Dan Corbitt Richmond; son, Bryan Garringer and wife Sarah of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Sandra Bolen and husband Jeffery of Shady Spring; grandchildren, Bryan Garringer, Jr., Devin Garringer, Kaytlin Plumley, Dustin Bolen, Roberta Garringer, Stephanie Garringer, Brenden Bolen, Daniel Amick; brothers, Larry Watkins and wife Mindy, David Watkins; sister, Sandra Murray and husband Richard; 2 special nieces, Summer Reynolds and Stephanie Murray; special great nephew, Richard Walter Hill, III as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Brenda’s wishes she will be cremated. The family is planning a memorial service at a later date.
