Friend to all and stranger to none. Betty P. (Nana) Lilly, 78, of Beckley, was taken up peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, January 16, 2011.
She was the daughter of the late I. Howard Phillips and Jessie Lee Oliver Phillips. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, Howard Lee Phillips and Thomas Earl Philips.
She is survived by her children, Joellen (Jodi) Lawson Worley of Beckley, Phillip (Phil) Lawson of Midland, TX and Jennifer (Jenni) Lawson Pennington of Prosperity, grandchildren, Bernie E. Worley, III of Charleston, Allison (Alli) Lawson Moore of Midland, TX, Benjamin Lawson of Midland, TX and Crystal Lawson of Midland, TX, great grandson, Truman Andrew Moore and one due in August, 2011.
She was retired from the United States Postal Service with 40 years of service. Her last position was as postmaster of the Lanark Post Office where she loved her people and her job.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at the United Methodist Temple with Dr. Chuck Pullins officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the church from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the United Methodist Temple Memorial Fund, 201 Templeview Dr., Beckley, WV 25801
