Benita Jo Biggs

Benita Joan “Jo” Biggs, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in Big Stone Gap, VA following a short illness
Jo was born August 20, 1931 to the late Benson and Ruth Spade Lewis. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Carol Ameling.
Jo was a former employee of the U.S. Postal Service, Greenbrier Dairy and Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital where she was employed for thirty years retiring in 1996 as Admissions Supervisor.
She will be fondly remembered by many for her kindness and witty sense of humor. She was lovingly referred to by some of her young friends as “Momma Jo” and Granny Jo Jo” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Rogers and husband Bill with whom she made her home in Big Stone Gap, VA and Beni Holley and her husband Bobby of Beaver; three grandchildren, Landon Holley and wife Kristina, Brady Bunch, Kristi Gibson and husband Tony; six great grandchildren, Brandon, Bradley, Braxton, Taylor, Bailey, and Tony. She is also survived by her faithful little canine companion “Taco”.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randall Meador, nephew of Jo, officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday.
