Barbara Lou Garris Bowles

Barbara Lou (Garris) Bowles, 62, of Fitzpatrick Rd. in Beckley departed this life Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the Bowers Hospice House after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born December 29, 1946 in Crab Orchard, she was the daughter of the late John and Rosie Farmer Garris.
Barbara was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a hardworking, honest person who touched the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She enjoyed camping, fishing, riding four wheelers and spending time at the river with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers; James Lewis, Richard Harry and Elmer Harvey Garris.
Those left to cherish her precious memory are her son, Randall Bowles of Crab Orchard, grandson, Cody Allen Bowles and his mother Dawn Bowles of Crab Orchard, sister, Lula M. Cernuto and husband Charles Charles (Nunz) of Beckley, brothers; Lonnie Garris and companion B.J. of Oak Hill, Lawrence Garris and wife Pat of Soak Creek, Garland Garris and wife Delores of Eccles, Lee Garris of Soak Creek, Larry Garris and companion of Hinton, Raymond Garris and wife Lucille of Green Valley, a very close friend, Ann Maynor, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2009 in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may gather with the family at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
