Barbara Ann Booker

Barbara Ann Francis Booker, 71, of Beckley, passed away
at Bowers Hospice House following a long illness. Born January 19, 1941 at Slab Fork, WV, she was the daughter of Charles Francis and the late Dorothy Winston Francis.

Barbara was a member of the United Apostolic Faith Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Francis, Jr. and Alvin Francis.
In addition to her father she is survived by her daughter, Jewels Williams of Orange Co., CA; sister, Ann Toyia Miller of Beckley; brother, Harry Francis of Detroit, MI and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Barbara lived in Michigan, Georgia and retired in her hometown of West Virginia. She always had a love for the arts, business and more importantly people. She was a dynamic go-getter, often you could find her on someone's campaign trail or involved in an event of some sort. She also loved the outdoors and nature. Consistent in her life was the love of God and church. As years went by she became a Minister within the church, praying for and comforting so many people in her life regardless of her own troubles. She was a woman of God that shared and showed his love with courage, strength and devotion.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the United Apostolic Faith Church, 1010 S. Fayette St., Beckley with pastor Timothy Schofield officiating.
