Andrew Martin DeCoster, 71, of Beckley passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 in the Beckley VA Hospital. Born December 12, 1937 in Lawrence, MA, he was the son of the late Frank and Alice Pamyla DeCoster. Andrew was a computer analyst. He was a radio operator for the U.S Air Force and a former instructor at the West Virginia Business College in Clarksburg, WV. He had been a resident of Beckley for the past thirty one years.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Waller DeCoster, children; Andrew Martin DeCoster, Jr. of Belgium, Stephanie Ann Shahan of Frostproof, FL, Kari Jo Vest and husband Alan of Beckley, grandchildren; Nolan Ryan DeCoster of Boston, MA, Chase Alexander DeCoster of Georgetown, MA, Krystion Adayre Stover of Beckley, Micah Nolan Vest of Beckley, Samantha Ann Shahan and Sarah Ann Shahan of Frostproof, FL, great-grandchild, Neveah Shahan of Frostproof, FL, sisters-in-law; Sally Gray and husband Doug of Clarksburg, WV, Jodi Parks and husband Chuck of Nutter Fort, WV, nieces and nephews; Kathleen Gray Linville of Bridgeport, WV, Jymme Gann of Atlanta, GA, Jill Barr of Atlanta, GA, Julie Dollar of Orlando, FL, Curt Kramer of Atlanta, GA, great nieces; Graylee Sophia Linville of Bridgeport, WV, Katelynn Gann of Atlanta, GA, Kayla and Ashley Dollar of Orlando, FL, Stephen and John Barr, Cousins, Henry and Midge Jacques of New Hampshire, special friends; Jerry Alan Rice of Fayetteville, WV, Steve Hatcher, Rose Worley and Pete Karvasky of Beckley, Frank Luizzo and his special friend Snowflake of Mullens, WV.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2009 in the chapel of the United Methodist Temple with Pastor Chuck Pullins and Pastor Tom Beckett officiating.
The family would like to express their sincerest thanks and gratitude to the nursing staff of 4B, 4th floor at Beckley VA Medical Center.
